Romantic Legacy (Last Valentine)

Fri Feb 6, 2009, 8:35 AM
Last year I wrote three pieces concerning the themes of Love. Death. Resurrection. I don't know if my watchers remember this but I posted Lady Love's Silhouette, Till Death Do Us Part, and Apology around the same time last year... I must admit that I've been becoming inactive in the world of deviantART and apathetic of the features that it brought (like checking and commenting on other people's deviations etc.). I lost the spirit to truly breathe in the world of this "art" site. So like every Valentine's I shall write three pieces. This year will be the last year that I'll be doing this on DA. Who knows if I'll ever post something again on this website. Maybe I've just outgrown the need to be here. I'm off to focus on the real world now. DA has thought me a lot and I have met many great individuals during my stay here. You guys will always be in my thoughts and memories. So yeah, this will be my romantic legacy to the watchers that have been with me since I started this page. My gift to you... Shades of what romanticism is, was and will be.

Romantic Legacy (Series)
I - The Wanderer (revising)
II - The Raven (writing)
III - Last Valentine (first draft finished)

I shall you leave now with this thought:

We outgrow love, like other things
And put it in the Drawer —
Till it an Antique fashion shows —
Like Costumes Grandsires wore.

- Emily Dickinson (We outgrow love, like other things)

Incredible writers that I had the honor of watching:

Haha. You were the one who helped me prolonged my stay here in DA last year. I still have fond memories of that subscription you gave me and the Daily Deviation on Black Bird. If it weren't for you I wouldn't have known my place here in this grand world of deviantART. So yeah, thanks for everything my friend! Those three pieces that I'm going to post will be my last here in DA.

Some people say they haven't yet found themselves. But the self is not something one finds; it is something one creates.

I'm really looking forward to them! I remember your trilogy from last year and how breathtaking they were. I'm eager for these as well!

I do agree that Deviantart does tend to be a site that gives you something in return. It gives you praise, good people, and an escape from things going on in reality which at the time may have been harsh. I definately used deviantart a lot more heavily during the years where it was a complex time in my life, but more and more each day I am entering back into the world of reality and no longer feel the need to use dA as a crutch. I have no idea if I'll be submitting any more things either, but it has been an honor and privelage to watch you and read your work, and I cannot wait to read these new pieces you have.

Haha. The lady epitome of the Cancer sign. I didn't think they were that breathtaking, but I will take that as a compliment. This year will be about romanticism is, was and will be. Let's just say this trilogy is not directly related by story but by ideology. The Wanderer is for romantic art--chaos and order, The Raven is for romantic literature--holding on and letting go, and Last Valentine is for romantic love/love and despair.

Such sweet words Lady Leo. I've been trying to get back to deviantART but I always fail to do so. I guess I was here in the first place because this place has become my emotional outlet... but through the years I've come to realized the importance of "living" life. I'm bound by the hardships of the real world and being here just won't make any difference. I want to be a part of the change in my own country... these three pieces will be my last and my romantic legacy to my watchers. BTW, here's the overview of what they're about This year will be about romanticism is, was and will be. The romantic legacy is not directly related by story but by ideology. The Wanderer is for romantic art--chaos and order, The Raven is for dark romanticism--remembering and forgetting, and Last Valentine is for romantic love--love and its tragedy.

Haha. Yeah, I hope they'll come out decent... I feel the same way myself. DA has changed a lot through the years. Not only in the way it looks but the people and its inhabitants. I've seen numerous of my friends here come and go... and it just started to get lonely. Most of the people I knew here already left.
