Black Bird by =something44 As mattiello wonderfully puts it: "It is unique in that he manipulates the idea of animals and how most people see them as beautiful creatures and compares them to humans. By doing this, he shows the reader a different way in which to think, while still using spectacular form and imagery." Take a look for yourself and see why!

Literature Text
A black bird
hangs high,
up a gloomy tree’s branch
bleeding…
Its beak stutters,
feathers falling—
bloodied red
of rabid vultures scavaging,
preying on rabbit's flesh,
searching... scanning the area,
as it tries to fix
its broken wings,
learning to fly, away—
from the harshness
of reality’s stake
where worms feed on
the flesh of decaying
corpses popping out,
as the black bird sings.
Hoping to regain, flight
towards the sky
Repairing. Rekindling.
The foul stench of blood,
fix its broken wings,
learning to fly. High in the sky—
where ravens roam the air
of a black bird's despair.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
- Blackbird by the Beatles.
The last of my Beatles related poem and probably my favorite. I believe in moving forward. Lulu, a character from Final Fantasy X, once said that “no matter how dark the night is, morning always comes”. That line semi inspired me (if there’s such a term) to write this. No matter how bad you may feel or how low your situation is one can always overcome it... if you really want to. A human’s will is very powerful and when utilized fully he/she can do wonders with it.
